Part 1: Absentee Bids
NOTE: THE TERMS LISTED BELOW ARE FOR ABSENTEE BIDDERS ONLY. THEY ARE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT THAN THOSE FOR THE LIVE AUCTION ATTENDEES. DO NOT CONFUSE THEM.
Overview: If you are unable to attend the live auction, we will accept your absentee bids. Our valued associate, Art Moler of SC Liquidations Inc, handles all absentee bids. He will act as your agent at the live auction, arrange payment with you, and also perform packing and shipping services for a fair handling fee and the cost of shipping. Successful bidders will be notified by phone and email within a few hours of the end of the auction. Full payment must be received within 2 business days (no exceptions). Purchases will be shipped expediently unless you prefer to pick them up yourself. Buyers picking up must schedule an appointment and have all their purchases removed from our facilities within one-week of the auction date, unless you request and are granted an extension on the removal time by the auction company.
Payment: Successful absentee bids may be paid for by:
1- Wire transfers or direct deposit into SC Liquidations operating account.
2- Online credit card payments to SC Liquidations via PayPal or Google Checkout.
3- Cash or Certified Check made payable to the SC Liquidations at the time of "buyer" pick-up.
Buyer's Premium: Successful absentee bids are subject to a 16% Buyers Premium. A 3% discount on the Buyer's Premium will be given to buyers paying by wire transfer, direct deposit, cash, or certified check. A $20 service charge is applied to all wire transfers.
Sales Tax:
All residents of South Carolina are subject to a 7% sales tax unless you are
buying for resale and provide us with your SC Retail Sales Tax Number. Out of
state buyers picking up their purchases and paying in cash or cashiers check are
subject to 7% sales tax unless buying for resale and providing us with your
State Retail Sales Tax Certificate.
Shipping & Handling: Handling will be billed at a rate of $40/hr plus the cost of packing materials. Shipping rates will be quoted at Carrier cost per individual job.
No exceptions please.
Part 2: HOW ABSENTEE BIDS WORK
When placing an absentee bid, you only have one shot. You will not have the chance to adjust your bid by phone or any other method once the live auction starts. Therefore, you should place your bid at the maximum amount you are willing to pay, taking into account that the Buyer's Premium, Sales Tax, and shipping & handling will be applied in addition to the winning bid amount.
Placing a $1000 bid on a lot does not mean you will pay that for the item. It simply means that you are authorizing your agent to bid your interest at the auction up to $1000. Your agent will bid for you against the live attendees until you either win the item, or the in-house bidders exceed your maximum bid amount. Just remember, if you place a $1000 absentee bid and $1000 is where the bidding ends with you as the winner, then the buyer's premium, sales tax, and shipping & handling are applied in addition to the $1000 (i.e. your total cost will exceed $1000 once the above mentioned charges are applied).
Part 3: HOW DO I PLACE ABSENTEE BIDS
View the inventory listing and pictures on the website and identify the items on which you wish to bid. Then contact Art Moler to discuss the entire process, ask any questions, and place your bids:

WARNING: If you place an absentee bid and your agent successfully purchases the item for you at the auction, a legal and binding contract is created. You are bound by Commercial Law to pay for and remove your purchases under the stated terms. There is no backing out. If you default on your absentee bid you will be in Breach of Contract and subject to the auction company pursuing a judgment against you for all losses, damages, and legal fees ... which will certainly exceed any bid amount you may have defaulted on. If you change your mind after placing an absentee bid, it is solely your responsibility to notify the agent in time to prevent him from purchasing item(s) on your behalf.
